September 29, 2026 - (Lake Placid, NY) Gathering 16 women from different programs, different athletic backgrounds, and every corner of the country, Women’s Camp in Lake Placid was a success. The momentum grew as we started building training intensity, building better technique, building a strong camp culture, and building connections that last for years to come.

On a beautiful east coast road, the first intensity session unfolded like something out of a highlight reel: a pack of skiers laying it all on the line in L4 double-pole intervals, capped off by a loud team cheer huddled together. Watching these athletes push each other and work together was a powerful reminder of what happens when you bring a group like this together.

Lake Placid delivered great weather, and basing camp out of the Olympic & Paralympic Training Center gave us a great centralized training environment. We closed out the week with NYSEF’s Keys to the Castle and Climb to the Castle rollerski races which were great opportunities to put on a bib and connect with the community!

For Continental Cup Leader, Emma Albrecht, the best part was, “the mix of high intensity training and downtime, which gave us the opportunity to have one-on-one technique sessions with the coaches while also getting to know women from around the country. What stood out to me most was the inclusive nature of the camp. The range of ages, from 17 to 29, meshed really well and created a great training environment. Overall, the camp was a great experience, especially the sprint simulation, which closely mimicked a high quality, national level race.”

It was incredible to witness athletes who raced in Lake Placid this past March already gearing up for next season alongside the next wave of talent who could soon be toeing the line at a World Cup. Thank you to the USOPC and to NNF for all of the support provided to make this happen!
