September 25, 2026 - (Sainte-Adèle, Que.) Société de plein air des Pays-d’en-Haut (SOPAIR) is proud to announce that Les Routes blanches has won the 2026 Prix excellence tourisme in the Responsible and Sustainable Tourism – Business category, presented by the Alliance de l’industrie touristique du Québec.

The award was presented to SOPAIR on Tuesday evening, September 22, at the Prix excellence tourisme Gala. This recognition celebrates two years of work developing Les Routes blanches and showcasing a different way to experience the Laurentians in winter.
This award also belongs to everyone who has contributed to the project. Congratulations, and above all, thank you to every individual, business, organization, municipality, club and partner who believes in Les Routes blanches and helps take the project further. A big project led by a small, dedicated team—and made possible by an entire community.

Registration for the 2027 Season is Now Open
Registration for the 2027 season of Les Routes blanches has been open since September 1.
Led by SOPAIR, the project offers a village-to-village Nordic skiing experience along marked but ungroomed heritage trails, inspired by the legacy of the Laurentians’ skiing pioneers.
Les Routes blanches invites skiers to slow down, travel through the region differently, and discover its villages, landscapes and heritage. Multi-day stays connect accommodations, restaurants and local communities, with travel by ski at the heart of a slow-tourism experience.

The project is developed in close collaboration with the community. Municipalities, MRCs, outdoor clubs, trail managers, accommodations, restaurants, guides, landowners, organizations and volunteers all contribute to building and improving the routes from one season to the next.
The routes are developed with local partners and the support of certified guides. Experiences take place in small groups on marked but ungroomed forest trails, offering a true winter immersion in the Laurentians.
New Experiences for 2027
In 2027, the adventure expands: discover the Jack Rabbit route, inspired by the rich skiing history of the Laurentians, try Nordic skiing, or set off on the Train des Neiges, a two-day classic cross-country skiing adventure.

A Collective Project
Les Routes blanches is developed with the support and collaboration of numerous partners, including Tourisme Laurentides, the MRC des Pays-d’en-Haut and Sentier Transcanadien, along with municipalities, businesses, outdoor clubs, trail managers, landowners, organizations and volunteers.
SOPAIR would also like to recognize the contribution of the Musée du ski des Laurentides, heritage partners from the MRC des Pays-d’en-Haut, and everyone who helps share and preserve the remarkable history of skiing in the Laurentians.
Thank you to everyone who makes this adventure possible.
