Lodge Legacy Project, July 2024
Although it is mid-summer, with temperatures getting up into the high 30s, the Lodge Renewal Committee has been active since the end of the skiing season, advancing our plans for lodge renewal. This is a brief update on what we have been doing, and some plans for the later summer and fall. After many consultations with members, visitors, program participants and coaches, we were able to assess the space and functionality needs for all users of the lodge. Our major fundraising campaign with members and friends will begin this fall. Details are yet to be finalized but watch for further announcements via newsletters or on the Lodge Renewal page of the SLNC website – and click link below for full newsletter.

SLNC Athletes are hard at work (and play) this summer!
Our Track Attack athletes spent some scorching hot days at Sun Peaks Training Camp in July. Their days included a 5 km run each morning before breakfast, roller skiing, hiking up to the top of the chair lift, and a well-deserved swim afterward!  The Western Initiative Training Camp took place in beautiful Kaslo, BC. This XC-specific training camp hosts athletes each year in July.  All athletes left exhausted but with big smiles. Thank you to all the coaches and parents who made these experiences possible – click link below for full report.
