The Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center is excited to introduce former Olympic silver medalist, World Champion, and Colorado-born local, Todd Lodwick, as the new Nordic Director.

Before accepting the role at Snow Mountain Ranch, Lodwick was the first American to win major titles in Nordic combined, taking home a gold medal at the 1996 Junior World Championship in Asiago, Italy.

Throughout his career, Lodwick won 20 National titles. He then competed in seven World Championship events throughout his career, winning gold in 2009 in both the sprint and mass start events before winning a silver medal in the 4×5 km team event in the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010.

Lodwick has seen 6 Olympics, competing in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014. His best individual result was fourth place in 2010 in the individual normal hill/10 km event.

Lodwick was born in Colorado and was born and raised in Steamboat Springs. He is looking forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic program and is excited to see the Nordic trails in action this winter.

“I’m excited to work with the Nordic staff and see how we can make this winter an even better experience for our dedicated Nordic skiers,” said Lodwick.

Since his arrival this summer, Lodwick has already begun work on trail maintenance and improvements to ensure Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic skiers have kilometers of groomed trails to enjoy once the snow starts to fall.

Part of the work is to incorporate a larger snowcat for trail grooming, and working to ensure Snow Mountain Ranch has more skier-friendly trails that will accommodate all ability levels.
