July 25, 2023 - We’ve Extended The Deadline 1 Extra Week – Now Ending Sunday, August 6th!

This is the FINAL week of our Battleground Bridge Raffle, and we are $3,500 closer to our goal of $5,000. Thank you to everyone that has contributed.

This bridge we are raising money for is located in Fayston and crosses the Mill Brook near the Battleground Condos on Section 19. The previous bridge was replaced earlier this season. The new bridge maintains a critical connection for the Catamount Trail in an area where there are no other viable route options, and provides access to an area that is utilized by a wide range of users.

We replaced the failing 30 foot long log bridge with a new 50 foot long, steel pedestrian bridge that used as much recycled material as possible. In addition to maintaining connectivity, this project facilitated permanent protection of the trail and trailhead parking access at this location for all users.

Additionally, the new bridge is higher and set farther back from the edges of the water and will improve water quality, minimize environmental impacts on the local watershed and ecosystem, and be less susceptible to damage during high water events.

At this time the bridge is complete. And while we have secured grant funding for a significant portion of the project, we were not able to cover the full $55,000 bill. We are now seeking help from the community to help us close the gap.
