August 17, 2026 - The Trail to Gold Coaching Grant was built on the legacy of the Trail to Gold: The Journey of 53 Women Skiers project, celebrating the growth and progress of women in cross-country skiing.

Since launching in 2022, the program has provided talented women coaches with the opportunity to join the US Ski Team World Cup staff for a two-week, hands-on experience. Coaches gain firsthand experience in coaching, waxing, testing, and working alongside the world’s best athletes and coaches.

-World Cup Experience: Coaches utilize FIS’ women’s coaching bib allotment to test skis and gain on-course experience alongside the US Ski Team.

Share & Inspire: Coaches bring their World Cup knowledge and experience home, helping inspire and strengthen ski communities across the country.

In 2023, NNF added the Trail to Gold to its ongoing funding commitments, ensuring support for the grant in successive seasons. Through this continued investment, we aim to support not only the development of American women coaches, but also the skiers they mentor, support, and inspire across the sport.

Trail to Gold Applications are open for a period from August 17-September 4th.

Applications are reviewed by the Trail to Gold Selection Committee and the T2G Coaches for the upcoming World Cup season are announced annually in October.
