January 10, 2026 - (Salmon Arm, BC) It is necessary to have someone step up to shadow the outgoing Chief of Timing this year or the Reino Keski-Salmi Loppet is in jeopardy of not continuing next year!

Please read the description of the Chief of Timing position we need:
We are looking for a volunteer to shadow the Chief of Timing, Luke Heckrodt, this year at the Loppet, with the goal of leading the timing group next year. This role does not require a large time commitment, but is critical to keeping the event going. The current chief of timing will work closely with you this year, and will be available to support you next year.
Responsibilities include:
– ordering and receiving timing chips and loops from zone4.
– Creating a zone4 race file for the registered skiers.
– Emailing and coordinating timing volunteers.
– Delegating or burying a loop of wire under the snow at the finish line and lap lane for the chip timing.
– Setting up laptops and a printer for printing results.
– Working with the zone4 operator volunteers to validate the chip times.
– Making sure the timing runs smoothly on race day, and troubleshooting/resolving any issues.
If you are detail oriented, comfortable with basic tech, and are interested in helping ensure the Loppet continues to run successfully, please consider this position. We need somebody to volunteer this year so they can shadow and be ready for next year!
