February 6, 2025 - Ski North Ultra is an ultra-distance 100K cross-country skiing classic-only event along the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. The event has 22K, 46K and 100K options, following the Norpine, Cascade River State Park and Bally Creek trail systems near Lutsen, MN.

If You Love XC Skiing and the North Shore This Race is for You
Start and finish by the frosty Cascade River waterfalls. Glide through birch, fir, cedar and pine forests, with wintery glimpses of Lake Superior.
The course trails are mostly beginner to intermediate, with some advanced sections, and are a mix of skate/classic, double-track classic and single-track classic trails. However, this race is a classic-only event (no skating).
Experience the beauty of the North Shore by ski trail and then keep the vibes going with a post-race celebration at Up Yonder in Grand Marais.
22K – Embark on the west side of Cascade River State Park, including the Pioneer and Deer Yard Loops. This is our shortest event but there is nothing lacking about it!
46K – This beauty includes almost a complete tour of the Norpine Ski Trail system, and what a way to spend a day! Double track, classic-only ski trails, a dreamy way to spend a morning.
100K – Have you ever had a 100K Day? This race was inspired by the interconnecting ski trail systems that are part of the novelty of the north shore trail scene. Trails that seemingly don’t end. At least, you won’t want them to. For the hearty of heart.
Registration has reached capacity for 2025. Please fill out the form on our website to be added to a waitlist. Please considering volunteering or checking back next year. Thank you for your interest!
