January 2, 2025 - Featuring 200km of expertly groomed trails along with the world-famous 50km American Birkebeiner Hayward, Wisconsin boasts a vibrant Nordic ski scene.

Welcoming over 10,000 XC skiers each winter to the legendary Birkie, the largest cross-country ski race in North America, the event often sees a spectacular finish on snow-covered Main Street in Hayward.

For an added winter bonus, 70 miles of Hayward’s singletrack trails are groomed for fat biking adventures, plus there’s excellent night skiing as well along with warming shelters on the trail systems.
