Vasaloppet Bike Festival: Jenny Rissveds and Simon Andreassen Win 2024 Cykelvasan 90

August 11, 2024 - (Mora, SWE) There was an Olympic shine over the 2024 edition of Cykelvasan 90, the final event of the Vasaloppet Bike Festival, as double Olympic medallist Jenny Rissveds (SWE) from Falu Cykelklubb won the women’s class convincingly, while Simon Andreassen (DEN), who also competed in the Paris Olympics, won the sprint to the line in the men’s race.

Rissveds finished over five minutes ahead of runner-up Lejla Njemcevic from Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Andreassen bested Norway’s Emil Hasund Eid in the final sprint to the line on Vasagatan in Mora. This marked Denmark’s first victory in Cykelvasan.

A total of over 14,000 participants registered for the various Cykelvasan races this year, as Vasaloppet’s Summer Week 2024 continues next weekend with running events in the Vasaloppet Arena.

Vasaloppet is the world’s biggest cross-country ski race. Vasaloppet’s Winter Week with its cross-country skiing and Summer Week with mountain biking and running attract a total of almost 100,000 registered participants every year.

Since the beginning in 1922 over 1.8 million participants have passed the finish line portal in Mora. Vasaloppet is a non-profit making organization owned by IFK Mora and Sälens IF. An engine for public health and sports club activities, in forefathers’ tracks for future victories!
