Galena Spring Loppet, Easter Egg Hunt, Ride Stride Glide, and Closing Day Sale on April 7

March 14, 2024 - Galena is hosting our annual Galena Inga Loppet and Poker Run on Sunday, March 17 at 10 am. It’s a combined event of the Galena Loppet and the Ingalami.

Enjoy a fun and free 25 km ski tour around the perimeter of the Galena Nordic trails; note that costumes are highly encouraged – especially Norwegian garb if you have any! You may even be lucky enough to find margaritas and doughnuts stashed along the course. No registration necessary.

On Sunday, March 31st at 10:30 am we will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt at the base of Gladiator ski trail. All kids age 10 and under are welcome to participate. It is free with no registration, bring your own basket!

The Ride Stride Glide winter triathlon will be held on closing day for the winter season – Sunday, April 7th. Dust off your mountain bike, find your running shoes, and grab your skis! This fun, relay-style race is held on the nordic trails (9 km bike, 4.4 km run, 9 km ski). Participate as a team or go solo – there is a kids and youth short course as well. Costumes strongly encouraged.

Used gear is on sale as well. We are selling used snowshoes, skate boots, classic boots, and classic skis. Please call to inquire about sizes.

Blaine County Recreation District provides recreational experiences to residents and visitors in the Wood River Valley. Not only does BCRD own the historic Galena Lodge, they also maintain over 200 kilometers of world-class Nordic and Snowshoeing trails throughout the valley.
