February 8, 2024 - (Gatineau, Que.) Dear skiers and community members, This communication is to reassure the skiers currently registered for Gatineau Loppet and those who are considering registering in the next few days.
Considering recent weather conditions, we would like to assure you that the 46th edition of the Gatineau Loppet will be presented on February 16, 17 and 18, 2024 and that more than 2,000 participants from 19 different countries are expected to take part.
Gatineau Park (NCC) ski conditions web page indicates that the thickness of the snow base is 15 cm at P8 parking and 22 cm at the intersection of Fortune Lake Parkway and trail # 1.
Following a thorough assessment of conditions on the ground and the safety of participants, we will use alternative courses this year for the 15, 27 and 50 (linear) km races. The 2, 5 and 10 km events courses will be unchanged.
The alternative courses, whose distances will be approximately the same as those planned, have been carefully selected to offer a safe and rewarding racing experience. Detailed information on alternative courses, including distances, feeding stations and important features, will be provided in the coming days on our website here and social media.
We would like to assure you that our team is fully committed to guaranteeing the success of the 46th edition of the Gatineau Loppet and to offering an unforgettable experience to all our participants.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to adapt our event to current conditions.
